After extensive research (5 mins on eve-db) I have some questions about cloaking equipment. There are 3 types listed on eve-db, Prototype Cloaking Device I, Improved Cloaking Device II and Covert Cloaking Device II (and there is GM Cloaking Device but I don't think we will be allowed to use it).
I don't see any activation cost on it am I save to assume that you can be cloaked all the time with this module? Or do I come out of cloak when I warp or activate modules?

If you log on chaos you can use a cloaking module. First of all, it reduces your velocity -90% and it removes all your shields and your cap energy while cloaked.
Once you decloak, your shields/cap start to recharge again, but you are pretty much a sitting duck.
Also, it's a high slot module.
Oh really I better get my lazy arse on Chaos than.
It is the prototype that reduces the speed by 90% the covert ops reduces by 50% I think but that cloaking device requires 1200tf. So I'm guessing that will only be useful on ships equipped for that such as Buzzard. __________ Capacitor research |

I was also thinking about exploit situation. Player A and B are at war and can shoot at each other in empire space. A friend of player B player C parks himself next to ship B and waits for player A to shoot a missile at B and splash C.
I want to know whether "accident" aggression towards a cloaked ship counts? __________ Capacitor research |

Quote: Well, if you decloak within 1500m, you need to do some pretty nifty piloting to stay within splash damage range and not within decloaking range.
But I am sure there'll be people willing to put in the effort to try this.
Will the both ship see the cloaked ship or will just the ship that is within 1500m see it?
If both can see than this is not a big problem but if only the friendly can see him it might be a bigger problem.
My oppinion is that when cloaked ship is hit than it comes out of cloak but no penalty is set against the aggressor. __________ Capacitor research |
